Memorial's Cascade
The 9/11 Memorial includes two pools that are constructed in the "footprints" of the World Trade Center towers. The pools' most dynamic feature is the water that cascades 30 feet over the dark granite walls on all four sides of the square pools. The water then collects in a large reflecting pool that has a square opening in the center, over which the water cascades an additional 20 feet. These are the largest man-made falls in the United States.
Dimensions of the pools:
Size: approx. 1 acre each (4000 sq. m)
Perimeter: 192 feet X 192 feet (58.5 m X 58.5 m).
