"Come on, smile for the camera..."
Black Vultures were abundant on the New Jersey cliffs, overlooking the Hudson River. They were joined by their cousins, the Turkey Vultures, and by several raptors, including an osprey, a juvenile bald eagle, a pair of peregrine falcons and a Broad-winged hawk. All, except for the vultures, soared out of range for my camera. In fact this one was the closest I have ever gotten to a vulture, as it perched in a dead tree almost directly above me. (not that I want to be close to a vulture). ; -)
