Golden Ragwort

This native Michigan wildflower (Senecio aureus) has a flat-topped cluster of yellow-rayed flowers, very few small leaves attached to the flowering stem, and larger basal leaves. That's a flower pattern also found in other members of composite family (daisy family) of flowers. These beauties were on the soft, wet, marshy bank of Stony Creek (where the mosquitoes live!)
