"Oldest Survivor"

Fort Gratiot Lighthouse is the oldest surviving lighthouse in Michigan. It's an active lighthouse at the entrance to the St. Clair River from Lake Huron.

The original much smaller tower built in 1825 collapsed in 1828, and was replaced in 1829 by a taller tower, that was expanded in 1862 to its current 82-foot (25m) height.
