"The Island" on St. Pete Pier

Not really an island, this unique structure sits atop the St.Petersburg Pier (its official name is "St.Pete Pier").

 

The Pier is a recreational tourist attraction that extends from downtown St. Petersburg into Tampa Bay. The building in the photo, complete with palm tree landscaping, houses three restaurants. It's a nice walk out, but there is also a tram that can carry weary tourists. There are also vendors and attractions on the pier. The picture shows only the East end of the pier.
