This is a closeup of the stepped-arch and stained glass in The Guardian Building, Detroit, Michigan. The "window" is lighted with electrical lights from behind, and portrays the virtue "Fidelity"

 

The premiere Art Deco Guardian Building opened in 1929, only a few months before the start of the Great Depression.
