George and Sally's Blue Moon

This 1941 diner car was restored to its original appearance, and moved to the grounds of the Gilmore Car Museum. This style of diner car pre-dates the stainless steel variety. It was originally Joe's Diner in Meriden, Connecticut until 1997, Then, it was purchased, restored and moved to Hickory Corners, Michigan, the location of the car museum.

What did we eat there? My wife and I had Coney dogs, a bowl of chili and, of course chocolate malts.

Note: There were about 1500 of these "Silk City Diners" produced from 1926 to 1966 by the Paterson Vehicle Company of New Jersey, USA.
