Sleek Waxwing
A few bare branches penetrated the vegetation. It was my luck to see a sleek-looking bird, a Cedar Waxwing, on one of the exposed branches.
There were eight to ten waxwings hopping from branch to branch, bush to bush, snatching old berries, and making high-pitched whistling sounds. This one had a full black mask, but no red tips on its wings, indicating it was a first-year bird.
Seen at the top of Mount Celery, Celery Fields, Florida.
