"Where Will We Go Mother?"
Sculpture: "Two Bears" (1964), by prominent Michigan artist Marshall Fredericks, seen at the entrance to the Children's Garden at Meijer Gardens, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
When I saw this delightful life-sized sculpture, I imagined the bears wondering what would become of them.
The natural world is under tremendous pressure today from wars, fires, strip mining, oil drilling, extreme weather, slash and burn agriculture, deforestation, urban encroachment, pesticides, and many other pressures that result in habitat loss due to destruction of the natural environment .
Where will they go?
