"Surfmen, to the Boats!"
This boathouse housed two "surf boats" that were a last resort to rescue capsized boats in the Manitou Passage during the early 1900s. The first course of action was to shoot rescue lines with a "Lyle Gun" to the offshore boat. The Life-Saving Station was decommissioned in 1941.
