"Do You Guano Paint the Town White?"

Some locals called this "Death Island", but the island is very alive with Double Crested Cormorants (see closeup in first comment below). This breeding colony has "painted" the trees and soil with a thick layer of guano, and the squawking cormorants were quite defensive of their little island.
