Winter Goldfinch

This female American Goldfinch was in a small group of birds that were gleaning seeds from wildflowers. Goldfinches often will stay in Lower Michigan in winter months if food is plentiful. The female is less colorful than the male goldfinch, but both are less colorful in the winter months.
