Seul Choix

Seul Choix Point Lighthouse in Gulliver, Michigan was first lit in 1892. It guided French traders to the only safe harbor along a dangerous stretch of Lake Michigan coastline. "Seul Choix", which the locals pronounce "Sis-Shwa", means "only choice". The light was automated in 1972, and was left unmanned. Today, the lighthouse is still fully active, and is open to visitors, welcomed by the Gulliver Historical Society.

It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and its architecture is listed as Italianate.
