Piloting a Freighter
This exhibit at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Belle Isle looks just like the pilot house of a freighter. That's because it is the actual pilot house of the SS William Clay Ford, a small iron ore freighter that was decommissioned in 1987. The ship was scrapped for iron salvaging, but the pilot house was donated to the museum.
