Biltmore Hotel Rendevous Lounge
This is the Rendevous Lobby, the original lobby of the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, from its opening in 1923 to 1984. When L.A. redesigned traffic patterns, the main lobby was moved to the opposite side of the hotel. Today, this lobby is the site of afternoon teas, and...well, rendezvous.
Opening in 1923, the Biltmore Hotel is a luxury hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. This "Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument" (designated in 1969) was our "home" for four days. Its storied past includes hosting the Academy Awards in its formative years. In 1929, the hotel's chefs fed the passengers of the Graf Zeppelin, and the 1960 Democratic Covention held there chose John F. Kennedy as its candidate. Over 30 major motion pictures, over 20 TV series and several music videos were either filmed inside or used the exterior of the building as a backdrop.
