The Dancers

"The Dancers" is another controversial sculpture in downtown Denver, Colorado. Installed in 2003, The Dancers is a colossal 60 foot (18.3m) tall, steel and fiberglass pair of dancers, created by Johnathan Borofsky. A song, "Let's Dance", was played continuously through a series of speakers around the sculpture.

One area of controversy, as with the "Blue Bear" (in first comment below), is the $1.6 million price tag. But these gigantic sculptures are very eye-catching, generate discussion, and have many fans.

This picture, at the site of the Denver Performing Art Center, was taken from a moving car on a rainy day(note the spray kicked up behind the car in the picture).
