Rock and pool, is nice and cool

This area of the upper Arroyo Seco, in the heart of the front range of the San Gabriel Mountains, is anything but dry. Even after the massive Station Fire of late 2009, the canyon bottoms are still remarkable riparian ecosystems, more evocative of the Pacific Northwest than of Southern California. I took this long exposure along the trail to Switzer Falls. You can see some of the trees reflected in the water. The biggest difficulty here was actually keeping my dog, Bailey, out of the shot. The water was just so inviting. :)

Taken with my Olympus OM-D, with the kit 12-50mm M.Zuiko lens at 20mm (40mm FF equiv) f/8, ISO 200, 0.8 seconds, with a Hoya circular polarizing filter, tripod mounted.

Thanks again for all of your visits, comments, and favorites (and notes!), everyone. I appreciate you taking the time.
