Wawona Meadow Fence & Tree

Another of my favorite Yosemite off-the-beaten-path spots. This is in the Wawona Meadow, at the southern end of the park. About a quarter of the way around the loop going counter-clockwise. This wonderful solitary oak rises up above the big meadow, at the edge of the Ponderosa Pine and White Fir forest. The fence is a remnant from the area's original settlement back in the 19th century, before it became part of Yosemite National Park.

Thought I'd try my hand at a little hand-held HDR, with my OM-D's blazing-fast high-speed burst capability.

7-shot HDR image made from RAW files taken hand-held with Olympus OM-D E-M5 camera and M.Zuiko 12-50mm lens, exposure bracketed at nine frames per second, 12mm focal length (24mm FF equivalent), ISO 800, 1/80-sec, f/13, with a Hoya circular polarizing filter. Merged and tonemapped in Photomatix Pro 4.2.
