The Long Line of Latourell
Latourell Falls, which drops 249 ft (76 m) in a single fall, is one of the most easily accesible waterfalls in the Pacific Northwest, the first one you come across on the drive east from Portland, and one of the few falls on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge that did not burn in the 2017 Eagle Creek Fire. It is known not just for the elegance of its drop, but for the striking columnar basalt and yellow lichen that frame it.
