Molten Makapu‘u Sunrise

Volcanic "vog" and lingering storm clouds near the horizon helps lend this Hawaiian sunrise an otherworldly, fiery warmth, as the tide comes in with the sun around the black lava rock of Makapu‘u, at the southeast end of O‘ahu's windward side.

 

Single RAW file, tripod-mounted, Hoya 0.8 ND and Tiffen 0.6 Graduated ND screw-on filters.
