The Stillness of Sparks Lake

Still waters and moody skies early on a summer morning at one of my favorite spots in central Oregon's incomparable volcanic region. Unfortunately that day the 10,358-foot (3157 m) summit of South Sister was obscured by clouds (at the back right). But it was one of the most peaceful mornings I'd had in a long time, and one that won't soon be forgotten.

Thanks very much for stopping by, and for all of the continued kind comments and favorites. They are much appreciated.
