Yosemite Ice & Sky

This is Tioga Lake, looking towards Mt. Dana (13,061 ft – 3,981 m) and the eastern entrance to Yosemite National Park. This shot is from the last day of May this year, and there is only a little ice left – a very early melt for this glacial lake at nearly 10,000 feet up in the Sierras. I have stood in this same spot in July and seen more ice and snow than this.
