Royal Norwegian Autumn

Autumn leaves and blue skies at the Norwegian Royal Palace in Oslo. Shot from a prone position, to capture leaves, palace, and sky in the same shot, and for the unique perspective this conveys. Looking up at majesty?

The Royal Palace (Norwegian: "Slottet" or formally "Det kongelige slott") in Oslo was built in the first half of the 19th century as the Norwegian residence of King Charles XIV Johan, who also reigned as king of Sweden and otherwise resided there, and is the official residence of the present Norwegian monarch, Harald V. The Royal Palace is owned by the state and placed at the disposal of the head of state. It is where the daily work of the monarchy is conducted and where the King and Queen live. It is where the King presides over the Council of State, grants audiences and holds official dinners. Foreign heads of state who visit Oslo stay at the palace. Most of the members of the Royal Court have their workplace here. The palace has 173 rooms and is open to the public during the summer season.

Thanks again, everyone, for your continued interest and support over the months that I have been away, and a special thanks for all of the wonderful views, comments, favorites, and all-around love for this and my previous shot. I really appreciate it.
