Goose grabbing / Ganzenrijden
Goose grabbing in Zandliet to determine the 2014 local champion of the local association called "Vermaak Na Arbeid" (pleasure after work).
The aim is to tear off the head off a (dead) goose on whilst riding on horse back. There are 6 associations in the north of Antwerp who all compete first for a local championship to become 'king'. Later all of these kings compete against each other to determine an emperor for a year.
It looks as if this rider had a dramatic accident and was treated by the 'nurse' :-)
