Derelict - Queenstown shoot

by j.t.beans

A reflective shoot. Decided to document Queenstown (Singapore) as an area I was familiar with since young. Near my old place, my parents brought me up with borrowed books from the Queenstown library, and a treat was following them to the supermarket to go grocery shopping. But how time flies. The supermarket has since closed down. The library's still standing (with a good collection of arts/design books to boot), but the facade looks baaad. Met a few interesting characters along the way, cementing my take on the place - it is a has-been place, but I know there are many stories to share. Out there, somewhere. Gives me the same feeling of abandon, more so than at the KTM railway station. Tall grass and mosquitoes. Mildew and moss. Though I did find the beauty peeking out of a few corners ;)

Kinda makes me depressed thinking that this is the natural progression for things/people that are old...
