Well folks this very odd strange year is almost at an end here in the UK, The past few months have for me been somewhat stressful with all manner of changes going at my work place. Seems like things wont be much better workwise in the new, not that the job will go I am as safe as houses now just we will have to do more for less once again.
This will no doubt impact on Helens world. You may have noticed that I haven't been as active with comments these past few months and have found it hard to find time to get out much.
2016 was bit of a plodding year for me. I found myself in something of a rut and tried to reinvent myself a little by making my girl time more artistically orientated hence all the wedding/ princess dresses and the 1940s themed photos. Not sure if the journey of self discovery helped or not.
I think I have to face the fact that I am just the special girl next door who stands out from the rest because of how I dress and that I should forget about the wild child party diva that longs to get out. missed that boat by 20 years me thinks.
Don't worry its not all doom and gloom lol.
2016 was a good year for just being Helen. A few more people close to me know of her and has been accepted by them. I have been down to London a fair bit on my own and travelled the tub network with no problems. I had an amazing evening at an art exhibition (I was meant to meet up with the girls but didn't) Talking to all manner of students and even did a filmed interview. The most ground breaking thing to have happened was my partner joining me on a brick lane trip. She has now decided that she will come along again and is planning an even longer stay up in Manchester with helen later next year. so things are looking up after five years.
This all brings me to this photo. I thought I had posted some from this set but I hadn't .
I wore this to a Christmas carol evening that I attended blind on my own with no safety net of fellow dressers. Well except who was working that evening.
That little experience was yet another defining moment in my journey.
