The Rundetårn (Round Tower), Copenhagen
The Rundetårn is a 17th-century tower in central Copenhagen. It was one of many architectural projects of Christian IV and was built as an astronomical observatory.
It features a stunning equestrian staircase, a 7.5-turn helical corridor leading to the top, from where there are expansive views over the city. If you walk up inside the tower keeping to the inside wall it's only 85m to the top, but if you keep to the outside wall it's 268m.
The tower is part of the Trinitatis Complex which also consists of a university chapel, the Trinitatis Church, and an academic library.
