Day 47/365 Southern Food on display!
We spent the day driving to NY. Dinner was at Mrs. Rowe's Restaurant and Bakery on 74 Rowe Road in Staunton, Virginia. We normally never take enough time to sit and eat a real meal while on the road, but everyone needed a break after a long day in the car with another 2.5 hours to go. I love what new technology helps us with. We used the AAA Triptik to see what was on the road ahead of us and saw the (great) reviews for Mr. Rowe's and that it was established in 1947 and that it served Coke. Since I was in Virginia, I ordered the fried Smithfield ham and it was amazing. The baked apples and collards were pretty good as well.
