Week 1, Day 1: "Unnatural Disasters"
I entered the Earth's atmosphere clocking possibly Mach 7, I wasn't in a hurry. I had to figure out a way to break the news to Lois that I'd be spending a while in Gotham. I knew she wouldn't worry about the time I'd be away, I was more worried of her reaction when I told her to go with me. If what Dick said was true, I do not want here anywhere near the city.
The conversation with Lois went over well...almost too well...she must be planning something. No time to think about that. I kissed her farewell and headed towards Gotham.
As I got nearer to the Gotham City limits, Dick’s comments when he contacted me could not have truly prepared me for what I’m witnessed. I immediately noticed the damage the city has sustained in the “wars” that have been occurring while Bruce has been away. This is perhaps the worst state I have seen Gotham in since the No Man’s Land incident, I can see why Bruce needs all hands on deck. We need to clean up this city.
I flew around the city thinking where I’d plant my roots, for a moment I thought about going to the Gotham News Network Headquarters. It would have been a great cover, I could have been seen around the city as Clark Kent with no problems. Just another reporter. Instead I decided to make S.T.A.R. Labs my temporary shelter during this war. It’ll be nice to see my good friend Dr. Klein once again. I worked closely with him and Professor Hamilton at S.T.A.R. Labs central branch in Metropolis, when we initially were looking at ways to neutralize/shield me from the effects Kryptonite has on me. I have not seen him since he was promoted to lead the Gotham branch. It will be good to have some familiar faces around as I trend on unfamiliar territory.
