Haleakalā Silversword (Argyroxiphium sandwicense macrocephalum)

The Silver Sword plant is only found on the island of Maui at 2,100 to 3,000 metres (6,900 to 9,800 ft) on the dormant Haleakalā volcano. It was almost extinct at one point, but has rebounded due to continued protection from grazing and vandalism.
