Teapot Junction

The station is no longer in use thesedays but has been converted into a tearoom for all your afternoon tea and scone needs! So take a seat in an former buffet car next to the platform and enjoy the THRILL of British rail travel without even having to leave the station!

So this has been a sketch in a book for quite sometime, an excuse to make a railway carriage and signal box combination so why not make it into a tearoom. My take is based more in the countryside and I've taken some liberties with the accompanying railway gate and signal. The carriage is built upside down to achieve the smooth red curve on the underside. There has been a tearoom carriage conversion done in reality not too far from where I live but I have not yet visited it.

For those who don't know a tearoom in the UK is similar to a Cafe, serving not just tea but small pastries/cakes/sandwiches/scones and best of all afternoon tea (An assortment of small eats). They are very popular and is a very traditional British experience.
