Instant Flight
This is one of the parents coming out of the bird box I built (see here for more detail.. www.flickr.com/photos/52469261@N03/53664455076/in/datepos...). Watching it today I could not believe how fast they go from head poking out the hole entrance, to flight. It’s literally instant. When going in it’s just as impressive as they put the brakes on rapidly.
