Haifa-Ramat HaTishbi-HaTishbi 16-survey

This building in HaTishbi Street on Mount Carmel is an international style with traditional details designed in the Art nouveau spirit (like the trifora-metamorphosed into a vertical stairway window).

After the Arab owners left during the 1948 war, only a decade after building their home, the evacuated kids of Shaar Ha’Golan kibbutz were housed in this building for a few months. Later new immigrants, some of them holocaust survivors moved in to this building and other buildings in the area. So many human tragedies in about 10 years.

It is also a part of a survey and a preservation list I do for the Israeli council for preservation and restoration.
