Dunkeswell Devon
At the back of the north aisle are the remains of an ancient stone coffin discovered when the 19c church was built in the choir of the ruins of the 13c Cistercian Abbey. The abbey has a long history stretching back to 1201 when it was founded by William Brewer who gave land for its foundation, and this coffin may well be his when he was buried here in 1226
