After John's death aged 66, her children all young, Honor m2 advantageously Arthur Plantagenet, 1st Viscount Lisle illegitimate son of Edward lV, .

A great deal of correspondence written to and from Honor survives in the Lisle Letters.

As Lisle's wife, Honor was ablle to raise her own children above the simple country existence of her step children, to the court of Henry Vlll. In France she arranged for them to learn french. One daughter Katherine served Anne of Cleves, her sister Anne was Maid of Honour to Jane Seyour, Anne of Cleves, Katherine Howard and Katherine Parr. In 1542 she attracted, along with 3 others, the attention of the king. Another sister Mary had been learning french with Madame de Boure, and had become involved with her son Monsieur de Bours without royal permission. She and Honor were arrested and caught throwing love letters down the "jake" - years later she was to marry a local Devon man in Atherington church.

Of Honor's sons, the eldest John went to Lincoln's Inn, the Lisle letters describe how he was kitted out with clothes, bedding and fuel. For his marriage to his step sister Frances, daughter of Lisle by his 1st wife Elizabeth Grrey, there followed the ordering of wedding garments in London, a cap with a white feather and a chain of goldsmith's work for him but Frances complained about sleeves that should have been turned up with tinsel, and a kirtle that should have been silver. A year later a daughters was born, named Honor.

Meanwhile step daughter Anne ++ had not married Henry Daubeney, there was a male heir, the problem now was how to recover the Beaumont inheritance conveyed to Lord Daubeney. This legal struggle, pursued vigorously over many years was ultimately successful, and occupies much of the Lisle Papers and letters which also include the history of her life and children who were brought up by her second husband

Honor's 2 unmarried step daughters Jane & Thomasine returned from France after their father's death, asking permission of their stepmother to live again at Umberleigh manor and to have pasture for 1 cow in the park. However there were arguments with Sir John Bonde a priest responsible for the manor accounts as well as the yearly obit for Sir John . Jane thought he was too old and inneficient, defrauding Honor of fishing money etc. (Jane could be difficult), and the priest may well have been old and past it - He complained he had been locked out of the back door. Eventually Thomasine had enough and left her sister and died 18 months later.
