Higher Ashton Devon
Late 16c Elizabethan drum pulpit now stands next to the steps leading to the top of the chancel screen. To it is affixed an iron sand-glass stand, and over it is an elaborate sounding- board or canopy.
It was at one time standing close to the south end of the screen which at some time had to be cut away to give access to it www.flickr.com/gp/52219527@N00/2yQN669410
For a long time it was disused, but has now been replaced very near to its old position.
