Wall memorial: "To the dear memory of General the Hon Sir Percy Robert Basil Feilding KCB , 2nd son of William 7th Earl of Denbigh. He served 32 years in the Coldstream Guards commanding the regiment for 9 years; Was present throughout the Crimean campaign taking part in the battles of Alma, Balaclava and Inkerman. Was severely wounded in the latter and was honourably mentioned in despatches. He commanded the infantry brigade at Malta from 1879 to 1884 and the S E District from 1885 to 1887. He was born June 26th 1827 and entered into rest January 1904 loved and deeply regretted by all"

He m 29 April 1862 Louisa 1834 - 1919 daughter of Henry Thynne, 3rd Marquess of Bath by Harriet daughter of Alexander Baring Lord Ashburton 1848 & Anna Louisa daughter of William Bingham of Philadelphia

He lived at Broome Park in Betchworth and also 107 Queen's Gate, South Kensington, when he was in London

 

In the cartouche held by cherubs is IHS. Engraved in the green marble above the epitaph is Pax Aeterna (Everlasting peace). The Arms are, on an Austrian eagle displayed sable, quarterly 1 and 3 argent on a fesse azure three lozenges or (Feilding), 2 and 3 a lion rampant gules, impaling, quarterly 1 and 4 a field on which five bars, 2 and 3 a lion rampant. A crescent for difference (second son).
