Wall memorial: "In memory of Dorothy the beloved wife of Mr H L Lomas, and only child of T and E Lomas of Wirksworth, who in the undeviating exercise of her filial duty, fell victim in the flower of her age to a malignant fever, and died a few days after her arrival from London 26th August 1833
To record how highly her distinguished excellence was esteemed, how affectionately she was beloved, and how deeply and sincerely her loss was deplored, this humble tablet was erected by her faithful friend Ann Long"
Dorothy was the only child of Thomas Lomas & Elizabeth Fowler
She m Henry Lomas, a shipbroker of London on 25th September 1830 in Wirksworth church.
Possibly she was returning here to visit her parents .....
