Slate plaque showing an angel teaching a small child to play the lute , carved by Lady Feodora Gleichen 1861-1922, a respected sculptor, in the style of Desiderio da Settignano 1464 .

The frame is Neo-renaissance.

Lady Feodora was, posthumously made the first woman member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors. She had given this plaque to her sister Lady Valda as a present. t was place here by another sisger Lady Helen Gleichen who lived at Hellens.

The Gleichen family was descended from Princess Feodora of Leingen, the elder half sister of Queen Victoria, whose widowed mother married the Duke of Kent, Queen Victoria's father. There is an identical plaque in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.. - Church of St. Bartholomew , Much Marcle , Herefordshire
