Henry Spelman stands in his robes as Recorder of Norwich with wife Ela (in place of higher status) whose family brought Narborough to the Spelmans, the first of that family to live here
Ela was the co-heiress daughter of Elizabeth 1461 & William of Narborough (January 10th) 1461 who did not long survive his father William de Narburgh 1461 & Alice daughter of Robert Clere.

Her father was one of 20 gentlemen of this county, summoned to serve King Henry VI as lances, in defence of the kingdom

1 Thomas 1514 buried at Pentney monastery Norfolk , m Elizabeth to whom he bequeathed £10 pa during life out of this manor, and the 3d part of all his manor in Marham for her dowry, (he also bequeathed to his half brother John Spelman +++ the manor of Narburgh, with the appurtenances, the watermill, advowson of the church, &c. and to his heirs for ever, according to an agreement made before Mr. Francis Calybut, viz. paying for the same to his sonnys, Edward, Thomas, and William, and to his daughters, Margaret, Elizabeth, Anne, Philippa, Ela, "and to the child in my "wyffs bely, 400 marks evenly;" he appoints his half brother John Spelman, and John Fincham, executors;
