Llanddeusant (Welsh for The church of 2 saints) dedicated to Saints Marcellus and Marcellina from which the village takes it name
Llanddeusant is claimed to be the burial place of the beautiful Branwen who married unhappily a king of Ireland. after many troubles including a battle between the welsh and irish in which her brother Bran was killed, she escaped to Anglesey where she died of grief.
Anglesey's only working windmill, Llynnon Mil is nearby, opened in 1775 at a cost of £550 and renovated by the local council in 1986 and opened to the public. The mill was originally located there as it lies just to the north of the River Alaw, and a little west of Llyn Alaw.
