Mrs Anne Claxton here inter'd doeth lye,

whose virtuous lyfe a living ye prayes did merret

Hir faithe religion, grace and charritye

hath crowned hir sowle with what the saynts inform

Evil powers fore yeares she lived exempte from blame

preservinge safe hir relytations name

From worshipes race she did at first desend

and Claxtons name did weil that worth adorn

by whome whilst heaven unto hir lyf did lend

Nine sones, five daughters to this world wear born

The first of August one thowsand six hundred & five

She dyed, let still hir vertues prayes survive.

 

Anne was the daughter of Thomas Clarke of Oakley Somerset

She m Hamon Claxton of Great Livermere, 2nd son of William Claxton of Chediston & Elizabeth daughter of John Throgmorton of All Hallows, East Elmham

Children - 8 sons & 5 daughters

1. Hamond d1671 eldest son and heir, m Philippa daughter of Sir Robert Bacon of Redgrave
