Wiltshire, Bradford on Avon

Thomas was the self made wealthy clothier, younger son of Thomas Horton of Lullington who had substantial business round Bradford. He owned property at Rode, North Bradley, Trowbridge, Tilshead and Chippenham. He built a "fair house" in Church Street and had mansions at Westwood and Iford.

Thomas built and endowed a Chantry in the church of Bradford-on-Avon.

He m Mary (? Lucas )

 

Having no surviving issue, In his Will he provides for his nephew Henry Rogers to pursue his legal studies and gives two fine sets of religious vestments to this church at Bradford on Avon I gyve and bequethe my sowle to allmyghty god and my body to be buryed nyghe to my fathers buriall in the Ile of our Ladye in the north side of the parrishe churche of Bradford or ellis in other holy buriall next where as it shall please god I shall depart out of this worlde.
