'An Inner Voice' Polaroid 350 Countdown Ad (National Geographic - October 1970)
This is an advertisement for Polaroid's line of "Countdown" Land Cameras from the October 1970 issue of the National Geographic magazine.
During the late 1960s and early 70s, Polaroid started including high-end features in their Land Cameras including automatic exposure and built-in development timers.
The camera shown is the Polaroid 350 Land Camera, which featured not only automatic exposure, but also a built-in automatic electronic timer (hence the "Beep" in the ad) to let the user know when the picture had finished developing. This feature solved two main problems which owners of early 100-400 series Land Cameras often experienced: the picture being either too light or too dark due to the darken/lighten switch not being properly adjusted to the lighting conditions, or the print being ruined by unpeeling it before development was complete.
