Antares Launch Mishap 10-28-14
This photo was so blown out with the highlights that there wasn't much that could be done to recover it. I have posted a better photo earlier but this is a bit of an experiment to try adjustments to the excessive orange that was the color of the fireball.Less than one second after this shot the camera was able to capture the highlights and produced better images. I need to be on the record here and say that this kind of tragedy is awful. The 5 November press release from Orbital Sciences Corporation details a plan that replaces the engines on the rocket. It also contains the long wait into 2016 before any more rockets are launched from Virginia to go to the space station.
