Casey Jones Museum, Jackson, Tennessee - 1965 postcard

"CASEY JONES MUSEUM

JACKSON, TENNESSEE

The former home of famous railroad engineer, John Luther (Casey) Jones is an outstanding railroad museum depicting many years of progress of the Nation's Railroads.

It houses 'Cannonball II' - an exact duplicate of the ten wheeler which the railroad hero rode to his death on April 20, 1900. This interesting display is owned by the city of Jackson."

This home where Casey Jones and his family were living at the time of his death. Jones' wife Janie Brady Jones, who lived until 1958, turned the family home over to the city of Jackson and helped establish it as a railroad museum in her husband's memory. It was originally located at 211 West Chester Street. In 1980, it was moved (along with that replica train, I guess) to its present position in Casey Jones Village on Casey Jones Lane just off Interstate 40: Casey Jones Village website: www.caseyjones.com
