Spicy cucumber salad, one of three dishes we made for dinner this evening (also: dan dan noodles and greens stir fried with pickles and -for the purists- obligatory specks of minced pork). The little dried husks are sichuanese peppercorns, which give Sichuan food it's distinctive, mouth numbing flavour. Tiltshiftgen, camera+.
