CGW Rochester MN No 263
CGW No. 263, one of the Great Western's long lived Prairies, pulls past the Norton Hotel in Rochester, MN. The depot is just ahead; the Zumbro river has just been crossed. It is unknown if this is the switch job in Rochester or a train heading north, however, the open hoppers could well be for interchange with the C&NW and delivery to the Rochester Municipal Power Plant.
263 was built by Brooks as an F-7. It was reassigned as an F-7a. 263 does not appear on the 1938 roster.
Date and photographer unknown.
