The strapped and buckled full cuffs provide the secure connection to the rigid steel upright bars. The heavy buckled knee pads exert pressure on her knees forcing them back into the brace frames and further restricting the ability of her knees to bend. Once the knee joints are locked, her legs are extended and held completely immobile.
