January 1, 2017 - Happy New Year! It's hard to believe I am beginning my 5th year of Photo-a-Day. This project of daily practice has taught me SO much, a lot more than just photography.
January 2 - I'm thankful for road trips...
January 3 - I'm thankful for the opportunity to sit and enjoy a beautiful sunset with Craig, Katherine, and David. Memories being made, relationships growing, and family ties strengthening...
January 4 - I'm thankful my daughter the professional baker is home and we had a chance to bake together...this time she was the teacher and I was the assistant.
January 5 - I am thankful for the Christmas gift from my daughter that was made up of a selection of homemade gourmet treats including this Fig Jam...It makes my heart smile.
January 6 - I'm thankful I have choices... Today is a tribute to Holly Clark who celebrates her 2000th day of Photo-a-Day all using the prompt "Where I Stand"
January 7 - I'm thankful for so many shades of color. Soft and subtle or bright and vibrant; all are gifts for my eyes...

January 13 - It's a Flower Friday... I've been loving these Tulips all week. I'm always thankful to have Tulips in my house because they remind me of my Dutch Dad.

January 17 - I'm thankful for the learning process... The prompt today was Bubbles. I chose to shoot the film on the bubble. I've done this before. It was no easier the second time and not necessarily a better outcome either. But I learn just by trying.

February 2 - It's odd to have Monarch caterpillars in winter, but this year they're plentiful. I love to watch the transformation from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly. I'm thankful for the reminder that all things are made new thru Christ...

March 4 - Last month it was the American Revolution and today it was the Civil War...time is really flying by!! I'm am so thankful for these folks that give their time for the reenactments that bring history to life.

March 13 - Usually when we hike the Bolsa Chica Wetlands I come home with a photo a a bird of some type, but today this is what we found. A gift of the much needed rains. So thankful for the joy of walking through the wildflowers...
